Sources are shared with the CLI — a folder added here is
one tracks.py scan walks.
Scan sources
Scan a disk
Sweeps volumes for folders that look like music
libraries, then you choose which become sources. Bounded by depth and a time budget, and it
says so when it runs out rather than pretending it saw everything. Network shares are listed
but never swept unless you tick them — a NAS walk goes over the wire.
Levels & backup
Both write a stored offset, never the file — the master
is never touched (hard rule 16). Album mode moves a whole record by one number so a quiet
interlude stays quiet relative to the tracks around it.
Smart playlists
Rules over the same fields the columns and the search
grammar use. Saved in library/playlists.json and committed, because a rule about
music is true on any machine.
Controllers
Web MIDI and WebHID, so there is nothing to install.
Press learn, then move the control you want. Bindings are per-machine, because a
controller is hardware plugged into one computer. MIDI not enabled · USB not enabled
